Introduce a tax on waste incineration

Responsible department: Her Majesty's Treasury

The Treasury should introduce a waste incineraton tax at 50% of the rate of Landfilling tax. Such a tax would prevent waste incineration undermining recycling. The tax could raise around £200m a year.
