Create minimum cleanliness standards for British hotels

Responsible department: Department for Culture, Media and Sport

Soiled sheets, stained carpets, dirty toilets, broken locks, intermittent water and electricity, filthy headboards, mouldy grout, rising damp, unidentifiable smells....and we, the British consumer, pay a fortune for the 'privilege'. Dirty hotels are bad for tourism, spread diseases, are a safety risk and are completely unnacceptable.

I urge the HM Government to establish legal minimum cleanliness standards for British Hotels in order to protect the British (and foreign) consumer from being swindled.
