Convert the nationalised banks into none profit making publicly owned mutual bank 100% capitalised offering offering the usual facilities, accounts, mortgages, pensions and business banking facilities biased towards small businesses and self employed. The bank should have safeguards against dealings with the City. The Bank should be called "The Briton"
